Practice Philosophy and Goals
It is paramount that wellness practices focus on the psychological and spiritual as well as the physical. Patient’s experiences can manifest physically in the body as pain and depression and can be a factor in the onset of disease and mental illness. Targeted mind-body therapies can go a long way toward alleviating or preventing lasting physical damage from associated disorders and diseases, the etiology of which may have psychological roots.
Ms. Perez’s wellness ethos is rooted in her 20 years of experience in healthcare and restorative therapies, coupled with an intuitive understanding of the beneficial synergies that result from combining multiple therapies. These synergies bridge the gap between where medicine leaves off and everyday life begins, enabling patients with a background of various diseases or disorders to realize their dream of living an active, fulfilling life.
As a wellness consultant and educator, Ms. Perez conceives, designs and executes custom wellness programs tailored to the specific benefit goals of various types of organizations, including corporations and academic institutions
As a multidisciplinary Health Practitioner, I believe that our lived experiences manifest physically in our bodies as sensations of pain, disease and depression. The integration of yoga and breath awareness serves to bridge the gap where traditional medicine leaves off and everyday life begins, supporting (pulmonary and oncology) patients on their healing journey to an active and fulfilled life. The practice of yoga and meditation provided unmatched opportunities to help me emerge with a sense of peace after losing my mother to breast cancer.
The holistic practice of yoga has a subtle yet profound influence on all the systems of the body, encouraging the body's own healing powers. My diverse portfolio allows for a unique opportunity to promote well-being from various dimensions and I inspire to facilitate healing and radiate wellness in how we live and share our energy with others. As a Meditation and Yoga teacher, I strive to guide a practice that empowers and uplifts with the belief that the lessons we learn on the mat can help navigate everyday life (regardless of stage of life) with grace, and equanimity. I hope to facilitate a lifestyle practice that is not just confined to the edges of the yoga mat but one that helps to create sustainable change once you are off the mat.
